Exercise Referral

​As as exercise referral practitioner I have a deeper understanding of several common chronic medical conditions whose symptoms can be helped through exercise and how to design safe and effective exercise programs for individuals with these conditions to help you meet your goals.

Conditions included: COPD, Asthma, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Depression and generalised anxiety disorder, Diabetes and Obesity.

Active Ageing

Regular strength training is a critical but often overlooked component of a healthy and active lifestyle.  Healthy living guidelines encourage older adults to strength train twice a week to maintain independence and a good quality of life.

It's never too late to learn something new and although w
eight training with squats and deadlifts sound like a specialist activity they are scalable to your current strength and experience and regularly  training these moves will translate to being able to lift and carry your shopping (or grandkids), put objects away on high shelves and even stand and sit without help as we age.

Functional Fitness

As a firefighter I understand the importance of being strong enough to perform under pressure in difficult terrain and conditions.  Strength training with targeted conditioning work keeps me fit, ready for action and injury free.

Sports Performance

Strength is the foundations of all sporting performance.  If you want to jump higher, throw further or run faster getting stronger is only going to help. Weight training with compound full body movements is going to get your body working as a whole system and iron out those imbalances.

I'm a huge believer that being strong reduces injury risk as well as obvious performance improvements - there's the fact that you just can't train when your injured.
